the banner is cool. It can stay there. The most annoying thing there is the ad. Is it possible to remove it?

Brighten the forums up a bit. Adding white a grey color to the rows would be nice I think.
t.row1 background could be white(ffffff) and the t.row 2 could be something grey or silver.

I think that would be good for adding some light to it.

Well , the suggestions I can suggest you would be ,
Change the new post icons , the New Post and No New Post icons look pretty similar , I personally don't like black , but Considering your forum being a "Gaming" Forum , I'd suggest you to have it more like Black + White , instead of Black + Red.
