Getting The Blitzkampf more active?
http://theblitzkampf.webhostingfox.com
I'm trying to get my forum more active and I have tried a lot of stuff.
I've let people see the development of my game project, and that isn't changing anything..
I have Facebook and Twitter pages for my forum, no luck.
I've tried advertising, but not a lot of results..(maybe they hate me? maybe they hate my forum?)

Re: Getting The Blitzkampf more active?
First off, your pages are really slow, and your theme is boring and miserable. Try working on this.
Re: Getting The Blitzkampf more active?
I have a lot of phpBB3 stuff installed and second, I haven't found a good dark theme yet.Ninja wrote:First off, your pages are really slow, and your theme is boring and miserable. Try working on this.

18 seconds to load on fastest avaliable connection... something's wrong.
Try a light theme, remove any scripts you got running, change service provider, etc. Put something unique in forum.

I don't like light themes. I'm removing some of the phpBB3 mods I have installed..LostLegend wrote:18 seconds to load on fastest avaliable connection... something's wrong.

Re: Getting The Blitzkampf more active?
I know sometimes it gets frustrating to been told what you have heard so much often. But please don't take it on the people who is trying to help, as tiring as it is, we don't know what has been advised to you or not.
What you have mentioned is to spread the word, so I am not sure if you want the people that join to be more active or get more people joining your boards. if you have the external advertising covered, I suggest you to try to see what could be improved inside your forums. I don't mean graphical style, at least for now, I think the layout is very nice and so the banner.
Creating new threads every few days should help to spark some activity within the members already in. When there are few members, the threads life span is really short, but as more members join on you will eventually get the digger that will answer this old threads and bring them back for the newer generation.
If you feel bored with your boards your members will too, so try to see how you feel in your community and try to empathize with what your visitors might have the impression.
I don't know how much has your place changed, but at least this computer has been quick loading the forum so far. I just thought I let you know that too.
- Spoiler:
- Please try not to take this as a personal attack, but I noticed you are quick to snap at people, while you don't insult people directly, you seem to get angry at others when people doesn't go your way. At least that is the impression I've gotten.
There is a chance people are being hesitating to join the community because they might feel intimidated or have a negative impression about you, who is staff there. I am not saying that is your board problem, but it could be part of it. And the only reason I dared to type this is because you said you tried different things and feel you are not getting results so I am trying to give a different angle. My apologies if I offended you, I am only trying to help.

I do have a tendency to snap at people sometimes, mostly when they say stuff like "Put something unique in your forum" and such. I'm letting people take the chance to see a game's progress and development(what most game companies don't do).Kaynil wrote: I know sometimes it gets frustrating to been told what you have heard so much often. Second, I occasionally run out of thread ideas, is one problem.
Third, it's been online for four or five months.
What, you don't like dark themes? I prefer them.and the theme is really boring!

Once again luigi, the most basic thing you could do, is remove a boat load of scripts.

Contests are wonderful things for activity. Think of an interesting prize and set up a referral or posting contest. The better the prize, the more people enter but don't forgot to advertise your contest.

I know things can be slow at times but if you're not active on your board then no one else will, just keep at it

Re: Getting The Blitzkampf more active?
Look... FINISH THE GAME. I seriously don't get why you think an unfinished game is helpful.
Look at Spiriomon. The demos were really nice, which is why people stayed. But only for ther demos. Nothing on news for the end of the game.

Well, I make a little progress on it everyday, but I should probably work on my game more than the forum.

Well, like I said, I'm putting a little progress in it everyday, I'm not giving a specific date on when it's going to be released.
