Another suggestion

On the homepage, you might want to put that this site works best on firefox and google chrome. And you might want to ask members to test with safari and other browsers so we can let everyone know what to use for this website

I voted yes. that's a good idea, and it won't hurt to list that kind of information on the home page. ^^
