Questions About Having A Domain

Hello members:) I'm planning to get a domain for Advertise Hotspot instead of the Sub-domain provided free by Forumotion.

So i have some questions to ask before purchasing it. Please answer it only if you know it 100% . I dont want to end up wasting money:)

1. If i buy a domain, will https://advertisehotspot.forumotion.net still be available/accessible?
   
2. If my domain expires after 1 year, will https://advertisehotspot.forumotion.net still be available/accessible?
   
3. If i buy a domain, will i have any disadvantages?
