ok so when do you think your forum is a success,
on my forum we have got some good activety when looking at members compared to posts but just over 100 members and just over 11,500 posts I consider us to be a work in progress.

Re: When do you consider you forum a success?
I think a forum that has over 100 members, and more than 10,000 posts, is a real good forum.

When I sell it for 1,000,000,000.
No when it's fun and active... that's success for me.

Re: When do you consider you forum a success?
When members have meaningful interaction and discussion. Along those lines, when two of my members, who met and got to know each other at my forum, ended up moving in together in real life, I thought that was pretty cool.buzzman wrote:ok so when do you think your forum is a success

Re: When do you consider you forum a success?
I think the size of the forum doesn't really matter. I have a friend whose forum has less than 30 members but they can have thousands of posts. I called such forum successful because that means the forum can draw members who are really interested in it and love the place truly. it's not so good if we have lots of members but only specific members doing most of the posts. (it is also what I'm trying to fix in my forum ^^")
Re: When do you consider you forum a success?
When I can have a community coming back, posting, having fun, and doing whatever they want like on roleplayerguild, but without the drama queens.

Re: When do you consider you forum a success?
When a forum stands unique from its competitors.
Like if anyone want to discuss about something, people should refer them to your forum.

in my mind its when you get 1 member. then you know its on the up
Re: When do you consider you forum a success?
As one who loves forums, when I'm looking for a certain forum I look at how many posts they have, how many members and how many new posts a day. The content of the posts is also important. I don't visit forums that have very little new posts a day but I also don't like forums that have way too many posts a day. It's hard to keep track and follow a forum that's too busy.

Re: When do you consider you forum a success?
What's stats? A forum is a success if their members log in and log out and in between enjoy their stay.
Kudos if you get the reference...
For me a forum is the admin creation, so I think the success is when it can be what the admin wanted out of it. Some admins aim for big numbers some admin for a friendly environment. For some size count for some threads per day counts, who am I to say X forum is or not a success?
Every forum you enjoy visiting is a success for me.
My forum is already a success with me, because I've put effort in it that has been received by members already posting. I enjoyed with them, and that community feeling s what i strive for. I relate with many of what Phio just mentioned up there.

When it's active at a comfortable rate and discussion is going somewhere really.
Oh, and when people continue to join and contribute.

Re: When do you consider you forum a success?
I would consider my forum to be a success if more members join in on our discussions and contribute to the site’s overall growth.
