How to add a gloss effect to text or a picture

Requirements
Photoshop
Knowledge of Photoshop

Step one
Once you have your image/text, right click the icon next to the layer
[photoshop] Gloss 116khp5
Click "Select Pixels"

Step two
Now your text/image is selected, add a new layer.

Step three
Select the white color and the circle shape

Step four
Put the circle shape long ways above the text/image so you can see the bottom of the circle on the text/image. You can then Deselect it (Ctrl + D)

Result

See the white gloss on the top?
