[Signature] Creating a Background for a Signature
Creating a Background for a Signature
Introduction Message
Okay, I'm going to teach you how to make a background for your signature. I am doing this because I have been asked many times how to create one, and because I have seen to many signatures suffer from bad backgrounds.
Placing the Render
Create a new document and place your render in the desired spot.
Forming the Basic Background
Paste the full size render in the background as many times as you need to cover it and then merge them.
Getting the Right Settings for the Smudge Tool
Select the Smudge Tool, a nice brush to go with it, and choose the brush settings in the picture below.
Smudging the Background
Use the Smudge Tool with your new settings and brush on the collection of large renders until it looks nice and confusing.
Displacing the Background with a PSD
Go to Filter>Distort>Displace, hit OK, and choose a nice PSD. This will displace your background and give it all kinds of interesting features.
Adding the Lighting
Now all that's left to do is add a little lighting. Go to Filter>Render>Lighting Effects, and use Omni, not Spotlight. Just place it in a spot that works with the lighting of the render.
Completion Message
Congratulations, you're done. Enjoy your new background skills!
