Pangaea - Brand New Forum, With BIG Ideas

Pangaea is a brand new forum created as hub for general learning, creativity, debate, live chat, games & much much more. My aim is to create a place for people to pull all their interests and web activities into one site and share amongst other self interested people, in addition Pangaea will also have specialised sections, and dedicated forums for creativity.

Here are some of Pangaea's features at the moment

General Forum
Every forum has one of theses, you know the drill.

Mini Forums
These are the list of specialised forums, whereby people can debate specific topics, post media.. etc

Homegrown Talent Forums
These are the forums dedicated for creativity, people can create profiles and showcase their work & get help.

Chat Room & Chat Room Forum
Pangaea has had an established IRC chartroom for a number of years, I have built in a chat client into the forum itself, and will use the chat room not only for regular chat but to organise certain live events related to the forum.

Flash Games Forum
A forum with flash games, people can vote and give their reviews or rants under each game, in addition, members can also request flash games.

Thats a very basic breakdown of the areas. But please feel free to visit (while you can) to explore around a little.



Pangaea is a Brand New forum, because of this I am still very much in the development process, and plan to implement new features as I learn and progress with it. I am new to Forums myself, and I am realising early on that a forum can be a powerful tool, even to the regular forum member. I plan to make easy tutorials on forum features and update them as the forum develops. If people are smart with page layout and familiar with forum features they can literally create their own mini website on a forum by clever linking to other locations on a forum or externally, this general idea Is something I want to highlight to new members.

Some ideas I am currently working on are, themed quiz nights for each section in the "mini forums" (please see the quiz nights topic), Homegrown talent member profiles, Homegrown member project diaries section & tutorials, Homegrown contests and awards, Forum integration with Facebook, MSN, and other social networking trends, and so much more I simply cant begin to explain.

Since Pangaea is at an early stage I am also looking for people to help out, perhaps even moderate, or help with the administration, either board wide or for specific areas within the forum, so please feel free to ask me "Pangaea" if your interested in being a part of the development of this new venture.

um, i edited my post to get rid of the redundant bbcode tags, but my whole post has dissappeared for some reason?
