Re: For me again
Generalities:
- Guest Impression: 8
- Spoiler:
- º The first thing I notice is that I have to scroll to the right to see all of your board. This may turn off many of your first time visitors. It is annoying.
º The forum layout graphics is unique.
º You can tell right away what the board is about.
º It is excellent to have the login prompt at hand.
Recommendation: Get rid of the horizontal scroll bar. I believe the problem may be the Table add slots. Take out at least three of them or have them in a second row instead.
- Creating an account: 8
- Spoiler:
- Is it really necessary I tell you what browser I am using and choose a Toy while I am registering? It is not that I am against fun, but unfortunately Forumotion ask me to confirm my password in another page. Answering this kind of break the pace. I also believe it is up to the newcomer to decide whether give or not away the info and when to activate the toy.
Recommendation: Make the browser and Toy profile fields no obligatory during the registration process.
- Effort: 10
- Spoiler:
- º I can see original icons, banner unified in a similar kind of font. It takes effort and planning, but it is notorious what you're aiming to achieve. It might not be outstanding graphics but they are clean and nice to the eye.
º The board statistics also denotes the effort to keep the place running smoothly.
Forum Style:
- Visual Stand out: 9
- Spoiler:
- The layout seems uniform. The only problem is the navigation bar color stand a bit oddly between so much blue. Depending if this was your intention this can be good or bad.
Why "empty" instead of "No new posts"? It is original, and I guess clever, heh.
- Navigation: 8
- Spoiler:
- The essential buttons are there and a bit more, it is clear to understand what each of them does.
º The partners button opens in a new page. Not big but may annoy or at least catch by surprise people since you expect it to open in the page you're on. Also there seems to be some error there. It gives a negative impression.
- Categories and boards: 9
- Spoiler:
- º Everything makes sense.I liked a lot how easy ton understand and related was each category.
º I am glad also you have other category to allow post unrelated to the board or advertise business.
º The only zero posts board is for help. That aside all boards show some posts in them.
º We have the problem I addressed before, the table adds.
º The card adds "online!" and "description" places are exchanged, so they stand out quite a bit as out of place.
Usergroups:
- Clearness: 9
- Spoiler:
- º The names are obvious most of the case.
º The colors of some groups like members and owners are kind of hard to read with the layout, dark them a little might help.
º Not all groups are explained. When i see GFX and then Packager with no explanation, it makes me think the missing information is a mistake and not on purpose.
- Utility: 10
- Spoiler:
- Even there are many different groups, it is necessary in a advertise board to separate the people who gives each of this services from the regular members. I don't get much the need for Dual members, but if it makes easier for you to manage the board, then it's all right.
Forum Activity:
- Post / Members: 10
- Spoiler:
- You have a ratio of approximately 52 posts per user, which is a very nice, balanced, sign.
- Members Involvement: 10
- Spoiler:
- Looking at your member page, the post counts for them seems to vary a lot, which talks alright. zero posts members are not the majority (at least not of the first page) so it says a lot about your members liking the place.
Overall score:
- 9.1 or 91/100
Your boards are growing firmly, and you have a good amount of members that visit and post fairly often, or at least that is the impression it gives. Keep it up!
Thanks a lot for your patience, I hope you liked your review!
