Game Website

Well I'm making a game and I would like to make a website for it... But I don't know what all pages to add. I'm planning to use my website to give information about my game like how to play and where to get everything... But I don't know what all I should add...

So far, I'm adding:

• Homepage (Gives an introduction about the game.)
  
• Download page (Various downloads such as the demo, wallpapers, avatars, and so on.)
  
• Coming Soon~ (Shows what will be coming in the next few demos)
  
• FAQs Page (Shows game controls, how to do things, and so on.)
  
• Comments (People can comment out the website or the game.)
  
• Spiriomon Page (Explains about the Spiriomon available within the game.)
  
• Location Page (Shows information on the different locations such as what you find there.)
  
• About The Staff (Gives information about the staff that worked hard on the game)
  
• Forums (We all know what these are!)
  
• Credits (gives credit to those who helped make the game)
  

Any suggestions?

So its like a arcade website?

No because its a game that requires a download... it can't be embedded into the website.... The website is to give useful information about the game... That's all =/

It's a game he's making lol.

I think the list of things your adding are the basics.. I think it will all come obvious as the site progresses. I think that list is fine, and you can add to it, or organize it a bit better with drop down boxes into various sections of that list.

So for instance if I wanted to view some wallpapers, you would have where I can hover over the Downloads Tab and it drops down Demos, Wallpapers, Avatars, etc ( and I can click on wallpaper. )

I hope this makes sense.

macster, the dropdown tabs won't work... I tried finding how to do that before but wix.com doesn't work with it... and with it being a flash website, it's gonna be even harder to code it in with HTML. Thanks for trying to help

Really? Cool. Did you use some pre-written program to make it? Or did you made it from scratch? If you made it from scratch, can I ask which language did you use? Is it a 2D or a full 3D game?
Also, is it ready for a beta at least? How long is the current playtime? Is there any custom system included? Do you have any sidequests made?

And to stay a little bit on topic... You know, if this will be a real RPG, you will need a page where you show some backup story on the main characters of the game. Also it`s not a bad idea to make some "history" on the world it is playing in.

And if it is an RPG game, I find it really bad that there is no forum. If there are any bugs, people either can't do anything about it or they will constantly have to contact you.

You can just make a forum and add it to the site, not that hard

Just make a forum on a free forum host, and add the link to the top of your website.

~There is a game maker that takes no coding knowledge at all called RPG Maker VX. I do use some scripts but I find those on the internet and do small edits to them.
~Current playtime would be an hour... and it's not even 5% finished so it's gonna be pretty long after it's finished.
~Custom system? I had to add a capture system, a new menu system, and just today, I added a new battle menu...
~ the game is in 2D...
~ Even though it isnt even 5% finished, I have released a Beta 0.2.7 recently... But that is staff-only testing... public testing is gonna be in a week or so
~Sidequests... hmmm... not yet... There will be later on...

This game is kinda like a pokemon game but not exactly... it has custom sprites, a different battle system, way different graphics... so... yeah...

Well, I will create a forum soon. I can iframe it into my website... but I'm going to wait for Wix.com's beta widget to get out of beta testing before planning that...

You could use myfreeforum.org to create the forum, they're a great host!

I need the forum to have the least amount of images as possible... So I'll need something like forumotion because its easier to remove images that aren't needed.

and like i said, the forum will be made after the HTML widget is no longer in beta for wix.com =/

Working more on the game now. Got a screenshot to put up in a different topic

Took out the 'Abilities', 'Items', and 'attacks' page because that can be discussed on the forums easily. So I just have to finish adding in the Spiriomon in the Spiriomon page and finish the location page and the website will be open to public.

But adding this part will take a while because of the fact that my girlfriend has to make alot of sprites and Mini-sprites to make before I can go on. And I'm recreating all of the maps so that's going to take a while aswell.

added contests page so people could see where the contests are going on at. Also added a facebook group

and for those who want to visit the facebook page to view the website early because they think i put the link, well I didn't... so don't try finding it because it's still hidden

I decided to use Cpanel instead of wix. I'm using one of the most advanced website makers there are now. Don't ask how I got a free Cpanel because I was told not to tell

anyways, the website will be up in a matter of days for you to visit! We do have a MyBB forum already and a Joomla page for the homepage... more will be added after I get a few members. later.

moderators may lock this as I'm no longer planning to use wix.com and the fact that I got all the suggestions I'll need at the moment.
